Video of Cambridge debate

The centrepiece of the Cambridge Convention on Modern Liberty was a formal debate on the motion “This House believes that its civil liberties are under grave threat”.

Proposing were:

David Howarth MP (Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary of State for Justice)
Prof. Andrew Gamble (Professor of Politics, University of Cambridge)

Opposing were:

Bill Rammell MP (Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs)
Tariq Sadiq (Labour Parliamentary Spokesperson for South Cambridgeshire)
